Colorado Horse Rescue
Colorado Horse Rescue has a “Leg Up” program offering modest, short-term financial assistance to support day-to-day feeding, basic care, emergency veterinary care, gelding services, or euthanasia for your equine partner while you focus on getting back on your feet. Visit their Program page for more information and a link for an online application form to apply for aid. You will need to answer questions and also upload a photo of your horse.
Lasso Horse Rescue
Lasso Horse Rescue has, among other resources, community hay banks that provide temporary hay assistance to families and horses in need, supporting up to 40 horses each year. By helping owners feed their beloved animals, they reduce the risk of neglect, prevent horses from entering the slaughter pipeline and improve overall quality of life. American Association of Equine Practitioners
Visit American Association of Equine Practitioners to learn about their Vet Assistance Program to assist horse owners with short-term financial need with up to $500 available for emergency equine welfare issues. Note: Contact your veterinarian to ask if they’re enrolled in the Vet Direct Safety Net program.
